Travelling in the Northern Ghana: 

We have divided the Northern parts of Ghana into 4 sub-regions for travelling.

First of all, we have the Tamale-region. Here, you'll find the places-to-be in Tamale and around Tamale where you can stay in Tamale and make various daytrips.

Secondly, we have described activities around Tamale, where you can start your day in Tamale and return the following day to Tamale. Even though it's not always that far, it's worth to spend at least one night there.

Last but not least, we offer itenaries east (the Upper East Region) and west (the Upper West Region) of Tamale, which are worth a couple of days visit and can be combined with other places of interest around.

Every trip you'll make will (probably) start in Tamale and from here, travelling to the various attractions in the Northern Region will take between 2 - 6 hours, depending on the means of transport.
